Drawing from over 25 years of experience in coaching, social work, and burnout prevention, Lynda shares how journaling evolved from a personal self-care habit into a professional practice that empowers individuals to navigate life with more clarity, self-awareness, and resilience.

She dives deep into the neuroscience and therapeutic benefits of expressive writing, emphasizing its power not just as an emotional outlet, but as a mindfulness and intentionality tool. Lynda also discusses how journaling supports the cultivation of self-trust and personal agency—especially vital in today’s overstimulated and anxious world. She introduces the concept of “reflective writing,” the role of powerful questions, and how journal coaching can enhance both coaching sessions and personal growth.

Listeners will come away with practical strategies to make journaling a joyful, sustainable practice and learn how to integrate it into coaching, leadership, or any helping profession.

  1. Interesting to hear the linkage between coaching and journaling, e.g. the coach being the journal. I have found over the years that some of my coaching clients who were initially reluctant to journal found it in the end to be their secret weapon to growth, surprising themselves with their own inner wisdom. Yes there is a bit of fear and reluctance to slow down and contemplate, but this response is a nugget for coaching itself.

Thanks Lynda for the insightful conversation.
